About

Deniz is a doctoral researcher at the Medicinal Chemistry and Technologies for Drug Discovery and Delivery Facility, working in the field of cancer biology. His research focuses on autophagy and lysosomal regulation in cancer, aiming to understand how autophagic pathways are controlled in tumor cells and to develop experimental systems to monitor and modulate autophagy in preclinical models using advanced molecular approaches.

He has conducted research in multiple international environments, contributing to interdisciplinary teams across different countries. His previous work includes projects in cancer biology and mitochondrial dysfunction, providing him with a strong foundation in cellular and molecular disease mechanisms.

Deniz also worked directly on COVID-19 vaccine development programs (Phases I–III), operating within regulated clinical trial frameworks under international quality and compliance standards.

Now, he is focused on advancing mechanistic insights in autophagy research toward translational impact, aiming to bridge fundamental cancer biology with the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
